Tanzania Ministry Update: Unity, Leadership, and Fresh Opportunities

Mungu ni mwema... God is good! We recently received an amazing update from our Tanzania Leaders, Vickie & Francis Njogu! As we look back over the past season in Tanzania, we are filled with gratitude. It is truly a new season of unity, encouragement, and fresh opportunities for ministry. Mosaic International is humbled to walk alongside pastors, leaders, and churches who are dreaming together, serving side by side, and advancing God’s Kingdom.

Leadership Training: “Iron Sharpens Iron”

We are thrilled to announce that our leadership class is back! Each week, pastors and leaders gather for training rooted in Scripture, with Proverbs 27:17:

“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another” as our guide.

For many of these leaders, this is the closest they have ever been to a formal classroom setting. Together, we are contextualizing biblical teaching and practical skills to meet their unique needs.

Beyond the classroom, our team is visiting partner churches to encourage them and witness firsthand what God is doing. Recently, we saw the fruit of our children’s teacher training, a powerful reminder of the urgent need to keep investing in the next generation.

Meeting Needs and Walking in Unity

Financial hardship is a reality for many of the churches we serve. Even small items like balloons or candy for children’s ministry can feel out of reach. In response, we are preparing new training on financial stewardship, covering savings, small business initiatives, and resource management.

We’ve also been able to support individual leaders during difficult seasons. A female pastor in Arusha, whom some of our team met last year, continues to serve faithfully despite personal struggles. From time to time, we’ve been able to bless her with transportation funds and practical help.

Another leader, Pastor Timothy, recently faced devastating loss when chemicals destroyed his entire bean crop. The financial and emotional toll was heavy, but through this trial, the beauty of unity shone. Fellow pastors gathered to pray, encourage, and remind him that he is not alone. Soon, our team will visit him in person to strengthen and uplift him.

Gathering Leaders for Greater Impact

Unity is not always easy. As one pastor shared, it can be difficult to maintain when people are inclined to go their own way. Yet God continues to surprise us. Recently, fourteen pastors brought their teams together, and nearly 70 leaders gathered in one place. The dream remains clear: to work as one team for greater Kingdom impact.

Looking Ahead: Upcoming Ministry Opportunities

The churches we partner with are eager and ready for what’s ahead. Please be praying with us for these upcoming initiatives in Tanzania:

  • Soccer outreaches

  • Home visits and food donations

  • Children’s ministry events

  • Church visits and encouragement

  • Leadership development and conferences

  • Youth training (churches are passionate about reaching the next generation)

  • Leaders’ retreat

  • Water and solar ministry projects

We are also dreaming big with long-term goals, including:

  • Drilling wells in underserved communities

  • Building stronger church structures in villages

  • Acquiring land for a ministry base

  • Launching a formal school of ministry to equip leaders for lasting impact

Caring for the Most Vulnerable

Recently, in partnership with CHI and ICARA, we hosted a training on walking alongside broken, wounded, and traumatized children. Fifty participants from churches, schools, orphanages, NGOs, and other sectors came together to learn practical tools for caring for the most vulnerable. This training was a powerful reminder of God’s heart for the least of these.

Moving Forward in Faith

Through every challenge and every breakthrough, we continue to see God’s hand at work in Tanzania. From leadership development to children’s ministry, from financial training to caring for the vulnerable, unity and faithful partnership are bearing fruit for His Kingdom.

We are better together.
