Children's Ministry Update from Tanzania

God is moving in powerful ways through our children’s ministry in Tanzania! Over the past month, there has been incredible growth, spiritual transformation, and lasting impact on children, families, and church leaders across our partner churches.

“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” — Matthew 19:14

Teacher Training & Children’s Conference

We recently hosted two major events that marked a turning point in our local outreach:

  • Teacher Training: 22 children’s ministry leaders came together to learn how to engage children using games, interactive activities, and creative teaching strategies rooted in love and connection.

  • Children’s Conference: What started with 138 kids grew to nearly 200 children by the end of the day!

“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” — Proverbs 22:6

The Impact on Children and Families

The ripple effect from these events is already changing lives:

  • Muslim children heard the Gospel. We trust that seeds of faith were planted in these young hearts.

  • Unsaved parents were moved. They shared how their children came home retelling what they learned, full of joy.

  • Six new children joined the church the very next Sunday... and they’re still coming! Praise God!

One pastor reported something remarkable: children now show up at church midweek, just to be in the house of God... something that never happened before.

“So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire.” — Isaiah 55:11

A Testimony of Salvation

A 14-year-old girl from a Muslim family heard the Gospel and chose to follow Jesus after attending the event. Praise God for her courage and new life in Jesus!

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” — 2 Corinthians 5:17

Church Growth & Ministry Transformation

God is igniting something powerful in local churches:

  • One congregation, which used to have only 7 children, now regularly welcomes 15–40 kids each Sunday.

  • Pastors are re-engaging with children’s ministry, some attending the trainings themselves to better equip their churches.

“And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.” — 2 Timothy 2:2

What’s Changing in Children’s Ministry?

The way teachers approach ministry has transformed. They now:

  • Use games and creative activities to teach biblical truths

  • Offer love and warmth, helping children feel safe and seen

  • Show kids that they belong in the family of God

“Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me.” — Mark 9:37

Still, challenges persist. Many village churches lack basic resources... no printed materials, few teaching tools, no games... but the hunger to grow and disciple children is strong. And God continues to work through every obstacle.

“His power is made perfect in weakness.” — 2 Corinthians 12:9

From Joyful Kids to Kingdom Ambassadors

These children are becoming joyful ambassadors for their churches, spreading the word about the fun, love, and belonging they’ve found in the house of God. Just like these children are becoming joyful ambassadors, spreading the word about the fun, love, and belonging they’ve found at church, you can join the movement too.

Mosaic Ambassadors are passionate advocates who use their voices, networks, and resources to share stories, inspire generosity, and mobilize others to pray, give, and take action for global transformation. Learn more here.

Why Tanzania?

Tanzania is a land of breathtaking beauty... home to world-class safaris and Mount Kilimanjaro, which towers nearly 20,000 feet into the sky. But amid the wonder lies great need:

  • Only 16% of the population has access to electricity

  • 70% lack clean, safe drinking water

  • Many communities face overwhelming challenges in education and healthcare

“The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.” — Luke 10:2

Thankfully, local churches are stepping up as the hands and feet of Jesus. Through Mosaic’s partnerships, these churches are becoming centers of hope and transformation. Learn more about Tanzania here.
