Kids Water Walk 2026: $6,000+ Raised for Clean Water

On Saturday, July 25, 2026, dozens of kids walked one mile through Old Town Murrieta carrying water, and raised $6,146 for clean water in Tanzania. That total is enough to give 6,146 people clean drinking water for an entire year through Mosaic International's $1 = 1 Year of Clean Water campaign, and it nearly doubled what the same walk raised the year before.
The Results: $6,146 Raised, 78 Supporters, One Mission
The 2026 Kids Water Walk drew families from across the community to Hush Coffee Roasters, where kids, parents, grandparents, friends, and Mosaic Ambassadors set out on a one-mile route through Old Town Murrieta. Seventy-eight supporters gave, nearly 50 people walked, and no single person carried the day, which was the point. Together they raised more than any Kids Water Walk before it.
Why Kids Walk a Mile for Water
For millions of children around the world, collecting water is a daily walk, sometimes an hour or more each way, and the water at the end of it isn't always safe to drink. The Kids Water Walk lets local children step into that reality for a morning, carrying water one mile so they can understand, and help change, what so many kids face every day.
Where the Money Goes: Clean Water in Tanzania
Every dollar raised becomes clean water through Mosaic International's $1 = 1 Year of Clean Water campaign: one dollar gives one person clean water for one year, delivered through filters installed by trusted local teams and churches on the ground. The funds from this year's walk will be sent to Tanzania, where Mosaic teams and local churches will help bring clean water to families in their communities. Mosaic will share photos and stories from the field as it happens.
The model has a track record. Last year's walk raised $3,490 and funded 50 water filters for Ogutu Village in northern Tanzania, enough to give every family in the village safe, clean water for the first time in generations. You can read that full story here.
The People Behind the Walk
The Kids Water Walk was created and led, start to finish, by Mosaic Ambassador Mike Westaway. Hush Coffee Roasters was the starting point for the walk. And the kids themselves proved that compassion isn't something you grow into, when children choose to care about people they've never met, they can help change lives across the world.
