Walk a Mile, Give a Year: Join the 2026 Kids Water Walk

For millions of children around the world, the day starts with a walk for water — sometimes an hour or more each way, and the water at the end of it isn't always safe to drink.

On Saturday, July 25, our kids are going to walk too. Just one mile, right through Old Town Murrieta, carrying water the whole way, so they can feel a small piece of something so many kids live every day, and actually do something about it. They can carry whatever fits: a little bottle for the smallest walkers, a jug for the bigger kids, or a five-gallon jerry can for anyone up for the real challenge.

Last year, the kids led the way

The first time, we weren't sure what to expect. Then the kids showed up, laced up, and — through last year's Kids Walk for Water — raised $3,490, enough to give 3,490 people clean water for a full year.

That summer, those funds traveled all the way to Ogutu Village in northern Tanzania, where our Tanzania leader Francis Njogu and his team delivered 50 water filters — one for every family in the village.

Before the filters arrived, the only water available was dirty, and families drank it because they had no other choice.

When Francis asked how many had gotten sick from the water, the village laughed — because, as they told him, sickness was just part of everyday life. Some families walked more than an hour to buy cleaner water they could barely afford.

Because a group of kids back home chose to care about people they'd never met, that's no longer their normal. You can read the full story of that delivery here.

As Mike Westaway, the Mosaic Ambassador who started this walk, put it:

"My goal was to show kids they can make a difference… Kids raised $3,490 — kids did that!"

$1 = 1 year of clean water

Here's the math that makes this walk so powerful: every dollar raised provides one person with clean water for an entire year, through filters installed by trusted local teams on the ground. One dollar. One person. One whole year.

Every step your child takes becomes a fundraising opportunity. Friends, grandparents, and neighbors can sponsor the walk — and your kids get to watch their own effort turn into clean water for a family across the world.

How to join

The walk is free and registration isn't required — just come. If you'd like to fundraise (and we'd love that), you can set up a personal page in a couple of minutes at givebutter.com/Kidswalk26.

Bring your kids. Bring their friends. Bring something to carry water. We'll see you Saturday, July 25 at 9 AM at Hush Coffee Roasters.
