What if a simple morning of play could change a child’s life forever? That’s exactly what’s happening through our Play and Pray event, a powerful gathering where faith, fun, and generosity come together to transform lives in the Philippines.
On Saturday, November 22 at 9 AM PST, families will gather at Cornerstone Community Church in Wildomar, California for Play and Pray: A Playground for Every Child, a joyful morning that will raise funds to build a playground and provide school uniforms and shoes for children in Donsol, Philippines.
This isn’t just an event, it’s a movement of kids helping kids through the power of play and prayer.
From Playtime to Purpose: How It All Began
The idea for Play and Pray was inspired and led by Mosaic Ambassador Mike Westaway, who previously led Mosaic’s successful Kids Walk for Water, an event that raised funds to bring clean, safe water to communities in need.
Building on that same spirit of faith and action, Mike wanted to help children take another step in serving others, this time focusing on creating joy for kids in the Philippines.
Why It Matters: From Murrieta to Donsol
At Mosaic International, we’ve already seen what happens when children take action. Our Kids Walk for Water raised over $3,490, bringing clean, safe water to more than 3,490 people in Tanzania.
Now, through Play and Pray, we are bringing that same heart to the Philippines, building a playground that represents more than play.
A playground is freedom.
Uniforms and shoes are dignity.
Prayer is connection.
Together, these small acts create something eternal: hope.
What Happens at Play and Pray
Play and Pray is a morning filled with laughter, energy, and compassion.
Children will:
Run, climb, swing, and play on the playground
Join together in prayer every 15 minutes for the children in Donsol
Learn how generosity and faith can make a real difference
Parents will see their kids discover what it means to give from the heart, to play with purpose and pray with passion.
Every moment of joy at this event helps build joy for children across the world.
